Remembering Aaliyah!

Wow, it has been 10 years since Aaliyah's death. It was a shock then and still is right now. I remember that day waking up for some coffee and my hubby telling me she died. We were the same age, and I knew every word to every song; followed by every dance move to every video. I was heart broken! Of course I played her music nonstop for weeks.

It may sound corny, but I felt a piece of my music generation was gone. She gave us music that was best described in her own words (about her fashion style) "street but sweet".

Anyone and everyone could relate to her music no matter male or female! She was great! When I listen to her music today, I can't help but think of the greatness she would have achieved thus far!

She was the only woman that could make my then one year old son stop playing with toys and focus on a music video. Even to this day, I play her dvd and he comes out the room to watch all 10 videos.

 She was beautiful, classy, mature and a rising star! A woman, singer, actress, model, writer; she was doing it all. She will be missed!
