Love the skin you're in

Well good morning, it’s raining here in NYC and I am sick, but determined to get my blog post up. And today we are talking about SKIN!

For all you beauties out there that love makeup but wonder why it doesn’t always too good; well Picasso wouldn’t paint on a jacked up canvas and NEITHER should you!

Here are some basic tips to care for your skin

Cleanse: This prepares your face for everything that will follow (lotion, primer makeup etc)

Wet your face with luke-warm water, then cleanse with your favorite cleanser and rinse with cool water. Exfoliate if you like 1-2 times a week (especially dry skin) This allows for a deep cleaning. :-)

Oily skin- go for a oil-free gel or foaming cleanser

*But remember not to scrub your oily areas; this will irritate the skin causing it to overproduce oil [sebum]. And moisturize more on cheeks and less on t-zone.*

Make sure ALL PRODUCTS YOU USE ARE OIL FREE!!! Keep blotting papers on hand!

Dry skin- go for a cream based cleanser

*Don’t completely dry face, allow water to to soak in and naturally moisturize your skin. Never use very hot water as this will dry out the skin more.*

Combo skin- go for a cleanser made specifically for combo skin.

Again, moisturize more on cheeks and less on t-zone.*

Sensitive skin- go for a cream or lotion that is hypoallergenic and allergy tested.

Dry skin-go for a cream formula if you are prone to break outs go for an oil-free moisturizer.

Oily skin-go for a gel or serum only in the dry areas

Sensitive skin- go for something light. Oil free and fragrance free will be best for you

Never sleep with makeup on. It will sink into your pores and cause breakouts.

Use wisdom; don’t purchase a product that is not made for your skin type.

Use caution when applying hair products; leave in conditioners and products containing petroleum and mineral oil CLOG PORES.

At the end of the day, wipe your cellphone with a make-up remover wipe, or towel with 99% alcohol on it.

Wash/change pillowcases often; products from hair and dust and other thing get on there and then get on your face.

The sun is not racist so uses a moisturizer with SPF of 15 or above, they make waterproof ones if you are active. Protect yourself from its rays

Instead of using foundation EVRYDAY try a tinted moisturizer WITH SPF added. (Aveeno)

Outspoken by Fergie Eau de Parfum Spray

As an Avon Rep, I have the privilege to test new products whether it's makeup, skin care or fragrances. Yippie!!!

The newest addition to the Avon scent family is Outspoken by Fergie Eau de Parfum Spray.

It is so awesome to have celebrities partner with Avon, and i am able to offer these products to my clients at great prices.

In case you didn't know... Fergie is the lead vocalist of the world-renowned music group, the Black Eyed Peas, and is also a multi-platinum solo artist. YOU GO GIRL!

Let me start by saying that i love the bottle, it is kind of a dark purple-bluish color and the shape is very nice. It stands out amongst the other perfumes on my vanity.

1.7 fl. oz.

I can't really explain the scent other than romantic, floral, with a hint of spicy, ready for the fall season, and yet a very soft fragrance. (that was a mouthful)

This is definitely a must have unique addition to any perfume collection. Mine happens to be very eclectic.

Here is what AVON has to say

"Outspoken is for the woman who needs no introduction. With her fearless confidence, she lets her true personality shine through. True to herself and her beliefs...she is Outspoken. Sexy. Fearless. Unexpected.

An outrageously bold expression of iced berry shockingly contrasted with ultra-feminine tuberose absolute and racy black leather. "

Does this describe you or any woman you know. If so, then  get on board the train and become "Outspoken"!

Coastal Scents WinterBerry Palette 2010

About mid-end of August’10, Coastal Scents came out with the first of their fall palettes, called WinterBerry! And oh how Berrylicious it is.

It's filled with twelve wonderfully pigmented colors, which I believe will work on every skin tone. They can also be used day or depending on your work environment. LOL! No, seriously, this fall/winter season is a great time to get creative and colorful. Don't be afraid to be bold, especially on the eyes. Purples, plums, mauves, and wines are a great way ring in this season with pizazz.

This palette give you a good variety to play with. You are given six different shades of purple, three of pinks/magenta, one wine, one pearly white and one that is a deep silver.

The case/palette is a matte finish and unlike the Creative Me Palette's it is not labeled nor does it have the mirror inside. Also unlike the CMP it is not already assembled. The hot pots come individually packaged and you assemble them any way you want. I like this, i mean why should they have all the fun :-).
I used my own label maker :-)
Coastal Scents does not name their hot pots they are only given a letter/number combo

Swatches: for some reason the pics wont rotate. color codes follow.

PIC 1 me20,s06,me14,me05
PIC 2 s08,s16,s14,s13
PIC 3 me07,me15,me18,me04,

All swatches were done without a primer or base because i know a lot of women don't always use them. but if you would like to see them swatched on a white base please let me know.

You can purchase this online at

Their new one out this week is called Fall Festival...can't wait to try those :-)

Urban Decay Primer Potion Professional size

Whoo hoo,
I finally got my hands on the UDPP (original).
I have been using the other two, "Eden" & "Sin". These were gifts, so i never felt the need to run out and get the original.
I actually like "Sin" because of its subtle satin/shimmery finish. I am a shimmery girl. LOL!

Well after using the other two for a while, most others, began arguing with the bottle to release the primer potion which was being held hostage at the base or in the rounded top area.

I guess they hears our shouts of agony, and finally made the change. (for a limited time only)

simple packaging sorry for flash
The tube is ok, same color as the original genie bottle, but holds .85oz, as oppose to the original bottle which holds .34oz.

I especially like that there is no more wand; this is great for reducing bacteria if you use it professionally as well as personally.

Just give a gentle squeeze and you get a good amount of primer out, which helps to reduce waste (using too much product).

of course more than this.
I got mine from and also received a sample of UD's "All Nighter" setting spray (100 point perk) as well as their "De-Slick"
